Overview
Should you require accommodation Lilier Lodge is a home away from home for patients undergoing cancer treatment in Wagga Wagga. Lilier Lodge was purpose built by Can Assist and Cancer Council NSW together with the support of local and regional communities. This accommodation centre acknowledges the specific needs of cancer patients and their carers while they are undergoing cancer treatment at the Riverina Cancer Care Centre (RCCC). When vacancies allow, the Lodge's hospitality is also extended to people travelling for other medical appointments.
Located at 317-321 Edward Street, Wagga Wagga, the Lodge is close to the Riverina Cancer Care Centre, Wagga Wagga Rural Referral Hospital, Calvary Hospital, Specialists, and is only a short drive to the shops. Lilier Lodge is a self care accommodation facility that offers comfort and serenity, plus support during a very stressful period. The Lodge also provides a drop-in service for cancer patients who travel daily for their treatment and would like a cup of tea in our lounge while they wait for their transport home.
Lodge staff are not able to provide personal care assistance. If you do require assistance with any aspects of your daily living then you will need to have a carer stay with you.Facilities
Lilier Lodge has 20 double rooms each furnished with an ensuite bathroom, two king single size beds, flat screen TV, DVD player, small refrigerator, microwave, tea and/or coffee making facilities, and heating and cooling.
To accommodate families, there is also a private entranced, fully self-contained one bedroom unit with a queen size bed, sofa bed, bathroom, kitchen, laundry, two flat screen TV's, DVD player, heating and cooling.
All linen is provided and rooms are serviced on a weekly basis.
A continental breakfast is included with the accommodation and guests can also use all the facilities provided in the modern communal kitchen and BBQ area to prepare their own meals.
Guests and their visitors can also use the communal lounge room which has a guest computer, free Wi-Fi, TV and DVD player, books, DVD's, jigsaw puzzles, games, magazines, and regional newspapers.
There is a guest laundry with coin operated washing machines and dryers, clothes lines and ironing facilities.
The grounds of the Lodge including a Serenity Garden, and room courtyards provide ample outdoor space to rest and relax.Costs
A subsidised nightly fee has been allocated on a bed and continental breakfast basis.
If you live more than 100km one way from Wagga Wagga and have been referred by your Doctor for specialist treatment in Wagga you may be eligible for financial assistance with your accommodation and travel costs through the Isolated Patients Travel and Accommodation Assistance Scheme (IPTAAS). Please refer to the IPTAAS website for more details or the Lilier Lodge Manager will assist you with any further information and/or making your claim.
Standard Rates
These rates apply for guests travelling for medical appointments/treatment
Single Room $70 per night
Double Room $85 per night
1 Bedroom Apartment $110 per night
Extra people are an added $15 per night.
Commercial Rates
For guests travelling for other non medical reasons
Single Room $100 per night
Double Room $115 per night
1 Bedroom Apartment $125 per night (based on 2 people)
Extra people are an added $15 each per night.What To Bring
If staying at Lilier Lodge then you will need to bring with you:
- Any health care entitlement cards you may have
- Medicare Card
- Your IPTAAS form signed by your GP in Section B
- Your Bank Details for IPTAAS paperwork
- Your own pillow if preferred
- Toiletries and Laundry powder
- Next of Kin contact details
(Name, phone number, address, email) - Your local GP's full name and address, a brief medical history plus your current medications list. This is helpful if needing to visit a Doctor of A&E whilst in Wagga Wagga.
- Food to prepare for your lunch and dinner, particularly if you have any special dietary requirements.
- Any health care entitlement cards you may have
Bookings
Bookings or further information can be made by contacting the Lilier Lodge Manager during office hours (9am to 5pm Monday to Friday).
Patients are also welcome to visit Lilier Lodge for an inspection prior to their stay.
